Baja Charters, is a Mexican company. It is a licensed nautical commercial charter company, and a licensed ground transportation provider.
Subject to availability, charter and excursion guests may choose to use the ground transportation provided by the Company to our yachts and back. Pick up and return is along the Los Cabos corridor, including MOST hotel and resort lobbies. There is NO CHARGE for this service.
Private charters include private ground transportation at no additional cost. If you would like private ground transportation to an excursion, which is a shared tour activity, we are usually able to organize this for you for a flat US $350, given adequate notice.
Deposits and Payments
To calendar a firm booking date, we require 50% of the total fee be paid 90 days in advance. If your expected charter or excursion date is less than 90 days before departure, 100% of the charter or excursion fee must be paid before your cruise date will be confirmed. Deposits are non-refundable. However, if your travel plans are changed for emergency reasons, we will re-schedule for a later date.
The majority of our scheduled activities are on our large and spacious sailing catamaran, Baja Cat, or on our even larger 96’ cruising yacht, Pacifica. When the sailing catamaran is overbooked, or needs down time for service, we reserve the right to upgrade guests at no extra charge to Pacifica.
Returning guests receive a 10% discount. Guests booking public excursions that elect to use their own ground transportation to and from Marina Palmira, receive a US $30 discount. If you are booking online, and driving on your own, the discount Promo Code is 37483.
Large Group Activities
If you are booking a group of 20 guests or more. A minimum crew tip of 10% will be added to our standard rates.
Subject to scheduling issues, and the captain's approval, private charter guests are permitted to extend cruise time. The charge is US $400 for every additional hour away from the dock.
On 1 January 2014, the Mexican government increased the IVA tax (Sales Tax on all Mexico transactions) to 16%.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
You may cancel your private charter or shared tour 30 days or more, prior to your activity date and reschedule anytime within a 3-year period for a rescheduling fee of $100.
If your charter or shared tour is cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations or travel restrictions, we will issue you a transferable gift certificate valid for three years in money terms for the same activity, or any other of our nautical activities, and waive the rescheduling fee.
We recommend you purchase travel insurance through your credit card company and/or a third-party provider. We do not offer refunds.
If maintenance issues, or anything within the normal control of Baja Charters, prevents you from enjoying your booked cruise date, we will provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans, or refund your money completely.
Baja Charters is not responsible for the Port Captain closing the Port, government edict, or in the case of whale shark excursions, changes in bureaucratic regulations without adequate notice. However, in these situations, we provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans, or issue you an assignable, three-year cash certificate that may be used the same as cash for the same or any future activities aboard Baja Cat, Grey Light, or Pacifica.
